Dana Vollmer Celebration

It was a honor to be asked to sing the National Anthem for the Dana Vollmer celebration.  She is very down to earth motivated individual.  It was an inspiring moment to see all of the little eyes fixed on her as she spoke.  All of the kids were so cute with their hand made posters showing their support!  Thanks Dana! It was a great day!

We are excited to be a part of the 2012 season of The Promise!  My youngest daughter Allie and I will be in the play together. Looking forward to this experience with her.

The Promise begins on the banks of the Paluxy River in historic Glen Rose, Texas. A grandfather and his grandchildren, Billy and Lisa explore the riverbed in search of the dinosaur tracks that have made Somervell County a popular destination for visitors. As they settle by a campfire, Grandpa is reminded of a story that his own grandfather used to tell him- the one about the Promise sent by God so many years ago.

As Grandpa begins to sing about the Promised One, the three find themselves among the Prophets of the Old Testament who foretold the coming of Jesus. Immediately, Grandpa, Billy and Lisa are swept up in the events of His birth, baptism, temptation, and ministry.Based on Scripture and incorporating the music of award-winning contemporary Christian artists, The Promise brings a modern day touch to the most amazing story ever told. Audiences experience a smiling approachable Jesus as He reaches His people and changes their lives. With its sweeping musical score, live animals, and a cast and crew of more than 150 dedicated Christian artists, The Promise is the experience of a lifetime.

In 2011, The Promise celebrates 23 years of performances at the Texas Amphitheatre-the largest permanent outdoor theatre in the state.  This magnificent 3,200 seat venue was designed to create a perfect atmosphere for The Promise.  The Texas Amphitheatre has many features exclusive to outdoor theatres throughout the nation with its moat of water, rain curtain, and numerous other technological advantages.  You will truly have an extraordinary experience in Glen Rose, Texas.

As we are driving home from picking up my youngest daughter from school, part of our routine of getting home is passing by Jack In The Box.  This particular day we were driving by and she turns and says to me, Mommy, when is Jack going to come out of the box??  Little did I know that everyday when we passed by she was awaiting for Jack to spring out of the box just at she remembered from the childhood toy we used to play with.  Children have such amazement and wonder even in the smallest things. I love their creativity, passion and how they see things.  They can simply just about anything!

I believe that every child should have the opportunity to just be a kid, and being safe doing the top three things on child’s list of to do’s which are laughing, playing and learning along the way. I am excited to be able to work with the CAC and supporting the great work that they are doing.
